Nominations Now Open for the UNOH Alumni Entrepreneurship Awards

The University of Northwestern Ohio is excited to announce that nominations are now open for the first-ever Fuel the Future: UNOH Alumni Entrepreneurship Awards + Student Pitch Competition, taking place on Friday, March 6, 2026, at Racer’s Station on the UNOH campus.

This new signature event will celebrate the entrepreneurial achievements of UNOH alumni while inspiring current students to think boldly about innovation, leadership, and business creation.

“We’re thrilled to open nominations for this exciting new event,” said Melanie Barnas-Simmons, Vice President of Institutional Advancement and Alumni Relations. “UNOH alumni are doing incredible things across industries, and this program gives us a chance to spotlight their success while connecting them with students who share that same entrepreneurial energy.”

Who Should Be Nominated

UNOH is seeking nominations for alumni who have:

• Launched or managed a successful business or entrepreneurial venture.
• Demonstrated leadership, creativity, and perseverance.
• Made a positive impact in their community or industry.

Eligible nominees must have completed a certificate or degree program from The University of Northwestern Ohio, Northwestern College, NBC-Tech, Northwestern Business College, or Northwestern School of Commerce, and be in good standing with the university. Nominees should also be available to attend the event from 8:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. on March 6, 2026.

Nominations are open now through Friday, December 5, 2025.

About the Event

The Fuel the Future: UNOH Alumni Entrepreneurship Awards + Student Pitch Competition will bring together alumni, students, faculty, and business leaders for a day of collaboration and inspiration. The event will feature a networking breakfast, panel discussions, a student pitch competition, and an awards luncheon honoring selected alumni entrepreneurs.
